Spain, New Year, 2000/2001

As a get away for Christmas and New Year 2000/2001 myself and a few friends were kindly (stupidly?) allowed the use of Al's parents Villa in Nerja in Spain (also where we stayed at either end of our trip to Morocco last year). Unfortunately I don't have many photos of my own as my camera has recently been stolen so here are a selection I have been sent by my friends. (copyright notice)

Woody's Photo's

I perhaps haven't chosen the best selection of Woody's photos, but I have chosen the pictures that most remind me of the holiday. That, particularly New Year's Eve, means I've often not chosen the ones that might be the most photographically perfect. Here they are any way.

This picture shows Woody and Colette walking across a bridge that was part of a walkway in a region called El Chorro (?). this was a good area for climbing, set in a massive gorge, through which a train line had been built in the 1920's. A walkway was built around the gorge sticking a few feet out of sheer cliffs, in places 100's of feet from the bottom of the gorge, so that the king (The Spanish King, not Elvis) could inspect the tunnelling works for the train line. Most of us walked for a little bit round some of the safer looking lower sections (such as that pictured) but Al, Ewen and Paul set off with ropes and slings and walked along it's entire rusting, crumbling length. Anyone have anymore photos?

New Year's Eve

Ah yes, New Years Eve. maybe these will fill a few gaps...

Who threw these?Ewen and Neill seem unable to appear in a photo without their mouths wide open.and nor do I..Wahey!This is what I remember anyway...Oh dear.

Skiing

One of the great things about Nerja is that it is feasibly possible to Spend the morning tanning yourself on the beach and the afternoon skiing in Sierra Nevada. We actually spent a few days in Granada and went skiing all day from there.

All the young dudes. Oh, and look we're pretending to use the ski poles as laser guns...

Red, hot, and dutch.Fishing for a brown trout.

Well that was Woody's Photos. Has anyone else got any?
